“Safe Travel for All Children: Transporting Children with Special Health Care Needs”
“Safe Travel for All Children” is designed to serve as an enrichment course for child passenger safety technicians who are interested in learning more about specialty and adaptive transportation. The training, which lasts 2 days, combines classroom lectures and discussions with hands-on exercises. During the training, participants will be introduced to medical conditions that can impact restraint selection and have the opportunity to investigate and install specialized restraint systems. The training concludes with a proficiency exam that evaluates the student’s ability to assess appropriate restraints and to demonstrate proper use and installation.

Child Passenger Safety Training for EMS Providers
“Improving Occupant Protection for Children in Ambulances” is designed to teach EMS personnel about the selection and installation of ambulance-specific restraints and some types of conventional child restraints on the ambulance cot. General occupant protection principles and policy and protocol development are also addressed in the four-hour training, which combines lecture with hands-on exercises.
Course instructors are required to be certified child passenger safety technicians with current experience in the field of emergency medical services. A disk or flash drive containing all of the course materials is available for $25, which includes shipping and handling.
